An $11,500 business grant from the Brumby Labor Government will help UR Mildura to expand with new products and more jobs.
Member for Northern Victoria Region, Candy Broad today announced the Grow Your Business grant to the Mildura-based company, the largest manufacturer of wine grape harvesters in the Southern Hemisphere.
“In a very short time, UR Mildura has become highly regarded for its innovation, custom design and the technological development of its specialised machines,” Ms Broad said.
“With considerable export opportunities ahead of them, this grant will enable UR Mildura to plan the details on how they can best expand the business.
“UR Mildura believe this support will allow the firm to develop new products, create new jobs and help re-establish the only manufacture of grape harvesters in Australia.”
Victoria’s Small Business Minister Joe Helper said the Brumby Labor Government had provided over $3.5 million in Grow Your Business grants to Victorian small businesses since February 2007.
“I know that growing businesses provide jobs, growth and income for Victorians,” he said.
“I know that small businesses want a dependable government. They want a safe pair of hands.”
