People travelling by bus between Robinvale and Mildura are enjoying savings of more than 50 per cent with a new fare structure now in place.
Candy Broad, Member for Northern Victoria Region, today announced that the Brumby Labor Government had improved the bus fares in the area to ensure they were in-line with other fares.
“Adult passengers will now only pay $12.80 for a daily return ticket between Robinvale and Mildura - that’s a saving of $14.50 per day,” Ms Broad said.
Ms Broad said that passengers would not only enjoy cheaper fares but also additional services, making travel more convenient for passengers.
“A new 8.55am service has been introduced from Mildura to Robinvale on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing a later travel option for people connecting to local hospitals, schools and workplaces,” Ms Broad said.
Ms Broad said that people in Robinvale and Mildura have the option to catch the bus all year round to get to the shops, medical appointments or to visit family and friends with services running every week of the year.
“Passengers will also be able to enjoy more convenient transport options with the daily return service to operate all 52 weeks of the year instead of only on school days,” Ms Broad said.
“People can also use their daily ticket to travel on any Sunraysia Transit service in Mildura for no additional cost.
“Single fare ticket holders can also travel for up to an hour on Sunraysia Transit services at no extra cost.”
The new service provides:
- A daily return service that operates 52 weeks of the year, rather than only on school days.
- A cheaper and simpler fare structure.
- Ticketing integration with Sunraysia Transit in Mildura.
Ms Broad said catching the bus between Robinvale and Mildura has never been cheaper, easier or more convenient for the local community.
“I encourage everyone in Robinvale and Mildura to get on board and make the most of these fantastic savings and service improvements for the region,” Ms Broad said.
