The Swan Hill District Hospital will share in a $9.4 million Brumby Labor Government boost for regional health services to fund state of the art medical equipment, Candy Broad, Member for Northern Victoria Region, said today.
Ms Broad said Swan Hill District Hospital was one of 41 regional and rural health services that would share in the extra funding for vital health technology.
The $205,000 funding boost for Swan Hill District Hospital will allow the hospital to purchase an Image Intensifer and an Operating Table.
“Brumby Labor Government funding is providing our hospitals with the most modern and up-to-date equipment now available, to help ensure that all Victorians have access to quality health services, regardless of where they live,“ Ms Broad said.
“This funding is vital to provide essential equipment for important medical procedures and patient care.”
“Victoria’s hospitals need to stay abreast of developments and technology to ensure they continue to provide the best possible care to patients.
“Targeted equipment funding enables hospitals to take advantage of advances in technology in terms of patient treatment and diagnosis. The Brumby Labor Government is continuing with its significant investment in rebuilding and improving hospitals.”
“This funding will allow our hard working nurses, doctors and other medical professionals to have access to the best equipment, to continue providing quality care to patients in our community,” Ms Broad said.
Ms Broad said the Brumby Labor Government was committed to providing world-class health services close to home for all Victorians.
