The Brumby Labor Government’s small business bus will visit more than 30 regional Victorian communities before the end of the year.
Announcing the itinerary for the Mobile Business Centre today, Small Business Minister Joe Helper encouraged businesses to take advantage of what the centre had to offer.
“There are 150,000 small businesses located in regional and rural Victoria, many of which don’t have easy access to one of the Government’s eight Victorian Business Centres located in country Victoria,” Mr Helper said.
“So we are taking action to bring the Victorian Business Centre to them in the form of a Mobile Business Centre.
“On board the Mobile Business Centre are experienced business mentors with diverse backgrounds in accounting, banking, marketing, sales, finance, manufacturing, retailing, franchising, tourism, PR, exporting and more.
“Small business mentors are selected for their business experience, people skills and passion for helping small businesses succeed.
“They will listen to small businesses, provide clarity on issues and share information based on first-hand experience.
“In addition to small business Mentors, the Mobile Business Centre will also offer access to the Big Help for Small Business guide, as well as Business Victoria Online and other information and resources needed by businesses.”
Mr Helper said the Mobile Business Centre would start its journey in Leongatha on Tuesday, June 29, before finishing in Tatura on Thursday, 21 October.
“This is the first year of the Mobile Business Centre’s operation and we look forward to bringing it to even more communities in 2011,” he said.
“On top of today’s release of the itinerary, I encourage anyone wanting a visit from the Mobile Business Centre at their community show days, field days or festivals to contact Small Business Victoria on 13 22 15 or by visiting www.business.vic.gov.au/mbc to express their interest.”
