Gardeners in Northern Victoria have been invited to exchange their old garden nozzles for water efficient trigger nozzles under a Brumby Labor Government program to save water.
The Brumby Labor Government program is providing 50,000 water efficient trigger nozzles as another way to encourage Victorians to conserve water around the home and reduce water bills at the same time.
“The Brumby Labor Government has provided 50,000 water saving trigger nozzles to help Victorians save water and reduce water bills,” said Candy Broad, Member for Northern Victoria Region.
Victorians are being encouraged to take up this offer early to avoid disappointment. 14,000 trigger nozzles supplied in April were snapped up by keen gardeners in just one weekend.
“Free trigger nozzle exchange is a fantastic offer for garden enthusiasts but it was oversubscribed last time so we are urging people to get in quickly,” said Ms Broad.
Ms Broad said while water restrictions had been lifted in many parts of Victoria, it is vital that households continue to use water efficiently.
“Victorian households have demonstrated that it is possible to have a beautiful garden even with water restrictions in place,” Ms Broad said.
The nozzles are available from Water Saver Garden Centres and Water Authority offices. Gardeners will receive a water efficient trigger nozzle in exchange for the twist nozzle model. Up to two nozzles may be exchanged per household.
