Roadshow Brings Big Ideas To Small Business In Mildura

Posted
14 July 2010

Small business owners in Mildura will be given the opportunity to learn the latest tips and tricks to help their business thrive with the arrival of the Big Ideas for Small Business regional road show, on Wednesday 21 July.

This event in Mildura is one of 11 to be held throughout regional Victoria through July and September.

The keynote speaker for this event is leading Australian marketing and business coach, Ailsa Page.  Ailsa, a former Telstra Business Awards judge, is a passionate supporter of small business and author of a number of business books, including the ‘Shoe String Marketing Kit for Small Business’.

Ailsa Page will provide small business operators with a range of practical ideas to capitalise on business opportunities that will work regardless of the size or type of the business.

Small business owners can gain valuable expert guidance as well as practical knowledge on sales and marketing to help develop their business further, said Ms Page.

Big Ideas for Small Business will take a holistic approach to managing a small business, talking directly to local business owners about issues that affect them day to day. The focus will be on developing marketing strategies that work for individual businesses, along with the need for continual business development activity to meet the ever-changing needs and demands of the modern business environment. I will also be following up with many local business owners after the event to assist them in moving their businesses forward.”

Candy Broad MP, Member for Northern Victoria Region, encouraged local businesses to take advantage of what the roadshow would offer.

“The roadshow promises to give small business owners big ideas that have maximum positive impact on their business, helping them work smarter, not harder,” Ms Broad said.

“Small businesses throughout this region have been resilient when faced last year with tough global economic conditions but now is the opportunity to take advantage of an upturn in those conditions.”

Local business owner, Heather Musgrove, Director of Visible Effects, will share the stage with Ailsa Page. Visible Effects began as a cosmetic and beauty treatment centre and developed rapidly into one of regional Australia’s first Medispa’s, offering medical treatments under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.

Sponsored by Regional Development Victoria, the Big Ideas for Small Business road show will also visit Grovedale, Portland, Bacchus Marsh, Stawell, Daylesford, Wonthaggi, Leongatha, Kyneton, Bright and Broadford.

The Mildura event will take place at the Mildura Working Man’s Club, Deakin Avenue, Mildura from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday 21 July.

Entry is free and bookings are essential.  Contact Carol Krake at Mildura RDV Office on 03 5051 2000 or carole.krake@rdv.vic.gov.au.
