New Learning Neighbourhoods and Performing Arts Facilities will make Echuca College a better place than ever to learn and grow, Member for Northern Victoria Region, Candy Broad said today.
Opening the new facilities today, Ms Broad said the Brumby Labor Government contributed $12.7 Million to the new facilities.
“Echuca College students deserve to go to a school with modern facilities where they can learn to their full potential,” she said.
“This is a great outcome for the school community and is an example of what’s happening in schools across Victoria to create 21st century learning environments,” Ms Broad said.
Ms Broad congratulated the parents, staff and students of the former Echuca High and Echuca Secondary College for their hard work to bring the schools together onto the one site and manage around the major capital works program at the same time.
Ms Broad said the Brumby Labor Government was committed to providing all Victorian students with a great start in life in high-quality schools equipped for modern teaching and learning practices.
The new facilities are part of the Brumby Labor Government’s Victorian Schools Plan to fund the rebuilding, renovation or extension of all government schools by 2016-17.
“Education continues to be the Brumby Labor Government’s number one priority,” Ms Broad said.
